Barn Dream

Free People Dress, J. Crew Necklace, Ugg Boots

This past week I had the pleasure of visiting this cute barn + farm in Half Moon Bay and absolutely loved it! When we walked onto the pasture with the cows, I felt nervous since I wasn't used to being so close to them. I later found out they were more scared of us than we were of them!

For the day, I went with my flowy, lace dress and am happy to say that it remained clean by the end of my visit. I've been wearing these Ugg boots nonstop lately so it's no surprise I decided to pair them with this dress as well. To add a little bit of color, I wore my peach and gold J. Crew necklace.

Thanks Olivia for showing us around the farm and taking these photos!

Henry Cowell

Nike Top, Patagonia Shorts, One Teaspoon Bikini, The North Face Sandals, Jansport Backpack

Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park. Where to even begin. Lost, I suppose. Background: planned hiking trip with a few friends on summer solstice day. Eager to begin our hike after the park ranger gave us a face for starting so late, we hurried onto the trail only to get lost for 2 hours. Going back to the front of the park, we nervously started the actual trail 2 hours later. Seeing that there were signs labeling the trails, we were more relieved. Initially planning on crossing 4 creeks, we decided on 2 instead since we had a late start. Long story short, we ended up crossing 5 rivers (recrossing included) and getting lost way too many times that we had to hitchhike our way back to the car. What was supposed to be a 3 hour hike turned into 5 exhausting long hours, but I guess I've got 'getting lost in a forest' and 'a wonderful first time hitchhiking experience' checked off my summer checklist. I hope your first days of summer were as restful as mine!

Summer Layers

Pacsun Dress, Free People Skirt, Wedges from Spain

Summers in San Francisco don't really come until August/October, but since it is officially summer and the weather isn't unbearable, we can still dress a certain way to look summer ready. In this look I took to brunch, I layered a dress with a skirt on top. I love how there is a lot of volume in the bottom half since there are technically two skirts. The skirt not only adds volume, but also a printed pop of color and a bit of extra warmth. To complete the summery look, I went with my lace up heeled espadrilles.

Fort Funston

Lucky Brand Tee, French Connection Pants, Matiko Sandals, Police Sunglasses

Took a visit to Fort Funston in a light, simple outfit. There was a lot more walking in sand than expected but a good amount of tree to beach ratio. Plenty of dog watching too!

I recently started making mini vlogs of places I go. Hopefully they're interesting for you guys and show a little more than my photos do! Happy first official day of summer!

Flora Grubb Gardens

American Eagle Top, The Gap Jeans, Free People Cardigan, Ugg Boots, Lucky Brand Bag

I happened to stumble across Flora Grubb Gardens on Instagram and when I realized it was so close to home, I knew I had to visit! The garden is a lot larger than expected, hence getting lost a few times, or maybe it was just me. There was also a Ritual Coffee Roaster within the garden which meant coffee surrounded by succulents, cacti, and various other plants. I just loved the space and the atmosphere and can't wait to revisit! But for now, the video I made of this garden will have to do.

I decided to take a break from skinny jeans and went with these true blue flared denim I purchased from Gap a few years back. I forgot how comfortable these were! They will likely pop up more often in my future posts. To keep the look simple, I went with a white top and my favorite cozy, olive cardigan.

Presidio

Urban Outfitters Cropped Sweater and Boots, Jansport Backpack, Cotton On Shorts, Rayban Clubmaster Sunglasses

Here's a photo diary of my day trip to the Presidio. I went with a cropped sweater since it gets windy by the bay but shorts since it was sunny. I packed everything in my trust 'ol Jansport and was ready for the day. We visited Andy Goldworthy's Wood Line, Lover's Lane, and the Batteries to Bluffs Trail. It was quite a walk but at the end of the day, rewarding.
