Slip Dress

Rayban Sunglasses, American Apparel Shirt, Marks & Spencer Slip Dress, Topshop Boots

Mixing the new with the old. This slip dress is a recent addition to my closet, while the top I paired it with has been a staple for a few years. I tend to keep pieces for as long as I feel that it's still my style and they stay in good condition. I think it's important for me to do this in order to reduce clothing waste which is prominent due to fast fashion. To go along with this, I decided to wear my first pair of chunky black boots I've had for as long as I remember. I enjoy mixing the new with the old to create something while reducing waste.

Drifting with the Wind

Somedays Lovin Dress

For the longest time, I didn't know what ethical and sustainable fashion was about. I recently watched the documentary The True Cost which is about fast fashion and its detrimental effects on the environment and the people creating the clothing. It has really changed my view on clothing itself. I love clothes and fashion but I feel that inexpensive clothing in exchange for lives of humans is not worth it. Learning this from the documentary, I am trying to start myself anew with a new mindset on my wardrobe. I strive to buy less, wear the clothes I already own whether fast or sustainable, and if I do purchase clothing, they will be ethical and sustainable. On why I will continue to wear clothing I own from fast fashion stores is because I don't want them to go to waste. They have already been bought by someone who was previously unaware of fast fashion and its effects. I feel that it is best to wear it to its lifetime and replace them with clothing that will last. With that, I will leave you with this video I created, pulling a dress that I have owned from a few years back as a sign of striving not to create more waste.

Tiles

Lucky Brand Dress, Urban Outfitters Sandals

I really enjoy taking walks because I feel like I can see things that I normally wouldn't if I were driving. An odd fact is that if the next destination is within walking distance, I'd much rather walk than drive because I feel that driving is even more work. But anyways, I walked by these steps in Palo Alto and just loved them and the entire building.

Good Company

Lucky Brand Overalls, Lacoste Sneakers

My first time in Fremont went something like this. Surrounded by suburban houses and feeling like I was in the middle of nowhere, my friends and I planned as the day progressed. We ended up having lunch and walked around a lake with the sun blazing directly in our faces. Dust hit us here and there but the day ended well with the amazing company of new and old friends. Moral of the story: with the right people, you can feel elated even if in the bleakest of surroundings.

Sunflower Fields

Miles of ongoing sunflower fields drenched in sun. My friends and I spent a few days up north in Davis and the sight of these fields was a highlight amongst the 100 degree weather. Quality time with quality friends made the trip well spent. I will be uploading vlogs of my time on my new channel in collaboration with my boyfriend, Arron, here.

Around Town

Crane and Lion Moto Jacket, Urban Outfitters Skirt and Boots, and Gap Bucket Bag

I love tossing this Crane and Lion moto jacket on either after a workout or for a walk around town. It is similar to a leather jacket, but without the weight. For being lightweight, I was surprised by how warm this jacket kept me throughout the day in the windy San Francisco weather. Aside from the jacket, I thought I'd try out chokers since I really love how they look on. I made both of my chokers, stacked them on, and tried it out for the day. Is anyone else into chokers this season?

In the Wild

I may be a bit late since summer break has technically started already but I still have time to get back into fitness before summer actually starts right? With the intensity of the school year coming to an end, I feel that I have more time to focus on getting back into shape and eating healthier. For me, I definitely prefer going for hikes over a gym. I just love the smell of the outdoors and seeing nature. Anyone with me? As for eating healthier, I just had a donut yesterday so we all know I'm well on my way towards my goal of healthy eating.

Feels

I've never really shared about my school life but I feel that in my current position, it is time. This past semester has been, to say the least, a struggle. I would've never imagined not passing a class in college being the straight A's and B's student I always was...before college. But that's exactly what happened. When it first happened, I wanted to withdraw from everything. I didn't feel that there was a place for me. As what it feels like weeks went by (I actually think it's only been a week but I really don't want to look back on exactly how long it's been), I feel like I'm practically recovered. Practically.

How? I'd say the most important factor this time around were my friends. When times get this rough, you really find out who's there for you and I guess also who's not. Second: time. It takes time to get over something that really impacts you and your life. As time progresses, you learn to accept what happened and move on. A short road trip. I feel that every time I travel somewhere, anywhere, I come back a new person with the experiences from that place. For me, every time I go to LA I feel inspired. I'm not sure what exactly it is, but I love the feeling of a new surge of energy. It made me want to share something I wanted to hide in the darkest corners. With that, I hope this can help anyone of you feeling like you're at a low in life. I rarely have this much to say, so thanks for reading.

Down Under

Hello! I haven't exactly fallen off the face of the earth but I am currently down under. Just wanted to pop in here after a hiatus and tell you a little about my trip so far! These photos were shot in Melbourne in my hotel suite room which had a gorgeous 6 panel window of the skyline. Waking up and seeing the orange skyline felt like a dream. I'm slowing waking up as I'm back in Sydney now but I miss Melbourne already. It has definitely surpassed my nonexistent expectations is the city. People were so nice, the food was better than I could ever ask for, and overall the city was just beautiful. Signing off to explore Sydney today! More on Australia soon!

Davis Diaries

Fog honestly has not felt this foreign for a long time. I just parked my car, unloaded the remnants of this weekend, made myself a parfait from the freshly picked strawberries I drove down, and am now here to upload these wholly unedited photos from the last two weekends. The first weekend was picnic day and you can see a video I made of it here. The second weekend was for pure enjoyment: friends, food, and the weather. There's just something about the lifestyle there that's so different from San Francisco's even though it's only an hour and a half away. A taste of the "college lifestyle" without the work is full of fun and not-always-healthy food, hence the parfait being the first thing I ate when I arrived home. Covered in fog and almost pushed over by the wind, I already miss this morning's warmth and the weekend's joy. At least I have 3 pounds of strawberries as memories right?
