Los Angeles: Day 2

 Hang Ten Denim Romper

After a morning of scrambling around UCLA and Westwood, we drove down to Long Beach to enjoy the time we had left before heading back home. Oh how I miss frolicking solely in a romper now that I'm back in this whirlwind of a place I call home.

Los Angeles: Day 1

Hard Tail Tank, BCBG Overalls, Steve Madden Cinch Booties

This past weekend I took a road trip down to the sunny side of California for Bruin Day. I always love visiting Los Angeles/Orange County for the sun, food, and shopping. Even though this was only a two day trip, it felt long enough to forget everything about school and work, which was good enough for me. Keep your eyes peeled for Day 2 and more palm trees!

Cal Day

Urban Outfitters Sweater, Dress, Headband, Steve Madden Cinch Booties

Continuing with lighter colored dresses for spring, I went with a flowy silk dress. As a science-oriented student, the subtle print on this dress immediately reminded me of the bacteria bacillus. Although memories of my microbiology class were not exactly fond, the print also resembled a pattern from the 90's without the vibrant colors, which made me love the dress all the more. Going along with the neutral tones of this dress, I chucked on a cropped oatmeal sweater and some cutout booties. To top it all off, I chose this purple headband to add a pop of color to this otherwise quiet ensemble.

I took this outfit with me to Berkeley. 2014 was the first year I attended Cal Day, the day where admitted students become acquainted with UC Berkeley. It was almost as crazy and hectic as Disneyland, with people stopping here and there for panels, clubs, and everything in between. Going as a bystander allowed me to have a day to wander the roads of both the university and the city itself. I must say, I thoroughly enjoyed the vibes and crazy good food from this town.

White-Eyed Dress

A.P.C. Lace Eyelet Dress, Vagabond Boots

Took this eyelet dress out for a change and fell in love with it all over again. It was shoved into the gapes of my closet and I oddly happened to spot it. The weather approved of this outfit as it turned out to be warmer than expected, warm enough for me to have these photos taken without freezing. Now that's a warm San Francisco day for ya.

Makeshift LBD

American Apparel Jacquard Lace Tee, Champion Sports Bra (Similar), UO Neoprene Skirt (Similar), Superga Cotu Classic

I love all black outfits because they're simple to create and you know you'll always look chic at the end of the day. For this look, I played with several textures including sheers, neoprene, and cotton. I practically wear sports bras year round after falling into the habit of doing so during my boxing days. I discretely showed this by putting a sheer lace tee over it. High-waisted neoprene skirt under all of this and you just created yourself a makeshift little black dress. Pair this with sneakers for a day around town or heels for a night out. I chose my Supergas since I strolled around the park after these photos were taken.

March Haul

Trying out a new kind of post with last month's haul.
Free People Thermal (Similiar)
This unbelievably soft shirt will most likely stay on my back for a while until late summer comes by or when this erratic weather normalizes. But even then I'd probably still be wearing it.

Free People Cardigan
Cozy cardigans are staple pieces in my closet. I love their versatility for being able to just toss over a shirt or layer under a larger coat for those who are still in cooler springs like San Francisco. And not to mention, you can never go wrong with this musty green colour.

I went ahead and purchase this buttery soft leather mini from Juicy just because it felt time for a change. I've always preferred smaller bags and this was the perfect size to fit my basic essentials. Perhaps now I can give my other black mini a rest.

Blowpro Shampoo and Conditioner
I've been meaning to try a new shampoo and conditioner for some time now and stumbled across these blowpro ones. They have a fresh citrus lemon scent that just got me to buy them. I am definitely looking forward to giving this new product a try.

Blush Tones

Patagonia Coat, Lucky Brand Top and Jeans, Gap Suede Mini

For a day of wandering and eating, I pulled out my blush toned purse that I'd practically forgotten about. I saw it peaking out of my closet and thought it'd go well with my ensemble. I paired my creme embellished top with a richer darker denim which I surprisingly really liked. Lately I've been cropping all my denim so today was no excuse not to. I feel like it just adds a little something to finish the outfit.
